Using gsync causes my screen to disconnect and reconnect
Hello,

So I just upgraded from a RTX 2060(using windows 10) to a 5070 Ti(using windows 11). I have an Odyssey G40b monitor that works with G-sync. The G-sync worked perfectly with the 2060 but when i upgraded i started getting these black screens about every 20 seconds where it searches for the monitor again(the displayport connected appears in top left of screen). HDMI works great but i cant use G-sync with it. Displayport also works if i dont use gsync. If I start up a game using G-sync the displayport connected appears in the top left. If I dont use G-sync it doesnt appear. Changing to ycbcr 422 10 bit from RGB 10 bit fixes it also. I have tried using different ports on the monitor and gpu but that didnt work. Only simple fix i havent yet tried is switching the dp cable.

Does anyone know what could cause this? Ive tried googling around but i havent really found anything that would fix it for me. Im curious why would this monitor work with rgb with the 2060 but not the 5070 ti.

RE: Using gsync causes my screen to disconnect and reconnect
Blacking out and disconnecting is usually a signal quality issue. Using YCbCr 4:2:2 reduces the bandwidth. I don't know why it would work with one GPU and not the other, but it's possible the cable is not good enough.

RE: Using gsync causes my screen to disconnect and reconnect
I'm experiencing the same issue. I also have a Samsung G40B monitor paired with an RTX 5060 graphics card, and I'm encountering the same black screen problem. I've tried replacing the cable with a better DP 2.1 cable, but it made no difference. My current workaround is creating a custom 1080p 240Hz resolution with "CVT reduced blanking" in the NVIDIA Control Panel. However, games not running at 1080p still cause black screens – for example, CS (Counter-Strike) in 4:3 aspect ratio(fullscreen). If you have a good solution, please reply
