It works absolutely fine otherwise on standard settings. VRR works as it should, hdr is totally fine, everything is fine except windows showing 165hz which when selected (or forced in certain games) it causes my tv to freeze and do a hard reset which is why I’m desperate to be rid of the 165hz option but obviously not to lose hdr by disabling 165hz. ? Do you think my problem is possibly solvable or might it be easier to just try and get my hdmi port fixed maybe on my video card? |

A native HDMI output would certainly be more robust. You never know how the protocol converter (PCON) chips handle their conversion stuff and what limitations might arise. DisplayPort must send HBR3 DSC. Otherwise, 4K @ 120 Hz RGB 10-bit (HDR) won't reach the PCON. Only a bandwidth of 32 Gbps is available. The PCON can then decompress and transmit it to the TV via FRL5 (40 Gbps). At least, that's the theory. It seems to work for me: I have another computer here with an Nvidia RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell and DisplayPort. When I connect my adapter cable with the Chrontel CH7218 PCON, everything takes a bit longer, but it outputs 4K @ 120 Hz, RGB, and 10-bit HDR to the LG TV. Of course, I'm using the S95F EDID I created. "EnableTiledDisplay = ZERO" is also set in the registry. However, VRR cannot be enabled. So it seems it's not that simple after all. But you're right. You're currently using two methods to solve one problem. You really only need one. It doesn't work with the custom EDID and without the registry value, does it? If you want to try another cable, I can recommend this one: Club 3D CAC-1087. It has the Synaptics VMM7100. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
If I try the EDID import on its own, it doesn’t actually appear on the surface to change anything. It still leaves all options as they were previously.
I’ve just bought that exact cable and it should be here tomorrow so I’ll give it a try ? |

The exact cable you specified today arrived and that solved my problem!! Like your set up, I cannot use VRR now but thats fine, I never had that on anyway. So thank you for the help!

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I just started using a dual gpu set up with a hd 7750 and a 3070 for the passthrough feature of windows 11. I was previously using a gtx 970 for interlaced resolutions and was able to create various high combinations that I can't seem to replicate with the hd 7750. With the 970 I could run 1600x1200i 200hz and 1920x1440i at 160hz. When I create these combinations in CRU with the amd card they do not show up in the widows display adapter. It seems like I'm hitting a cap that I don't know how to get around. I was able to get 1920x1440i 160hz to show up briefly but it vanished when I made a 60hz interlaced version of the resolution. I applied the ToastyX patch for amd cards to see if that would help but I'm still having issues with having these resolutions show up. Is there something I'm missing? I'm currently connected to the card via the vga port. Should I use the dvi-i or hdmi instead? I would prefer to stick with the vga or dvi port since I do not have another dac with a high pixel clock.
Thanks in advance |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
i have this problem: I have to disable GSync on some games like Vanquish (with gsync i can't set 4k resolution), Re6 and Re Revelations 2 (both with gsync on won't start) on my Panasonic 65LZ1000 to run them or see all screen resolutions, while if I use an LG C3 there's no need to disable GSync and everything start and all resolutions are available?
