If it was working before, then something else changed unrelated to Strobelight. The strobelight-setup.exe program only installs an EDID override, and choosing "Reset this display (uninstall)" removes the override. No other changes are made to the system. The main strobelight.exe program does not make any changes. Are you sure the monitor is running at 60 Hz? Check the monitor's menu under System Setup -> Information. Does it say 60 Hz? I can't think of any reason why it would automatically switch to 60 Hz if 144 Hz is available. That normally doesn't happen unless you add a custom resolution using the NVIDIA control panel without installing an appropriate INF file, but you don't need to do that to get 144 Hz. EDID overrides wouldn't cause this either. In fact, EDID overrides are usually used to fix problems like this, but you shouldn't need one with the VG248QE. If you want to try this, use Custom Resolution Utility to import this file: vg248qe-144-120-60.dat The NVIDIA control panel also has a "Preferred refresh rate" option under "Manage 3D settings" that can be set to "Highest available" to force some games to run at 144 Hz, but this shouldn't be needed with CS:GO. If neither of those options help, then I have no idea what's causing the problem. |
