XL2411Z has input lag on 1024x768 stretched?? Im planning on buying that monitor :/

All resolutions that are not native, and has to climb from NVIDIA - GPU, have Input - Lag.

So I want to put up with CRU resolutions, to enable the tab -> NVIDIA - Display (scaling). As by default only lets climb with NVIDIA - GPU in Windows 10

GPU scaling does not add lag. If you want to use display scaling, you have to add 1024x768 @ 144 Hz using CRU, but the monitor might not support that. 1024x768 @ 120 Hz should work though.

That GPU might be too old to support 3840x2160 @ 30 Hz with HDMI. I don't know why you're getting bad font rendering though. That usually only happens with DVI when one of the links is missing.

Did you use CRU at all? If so, you have to add an HDMI support data block in the custom extension block, or just import this file: hdmi-audio.dat

I have understood that to be the graphical doing two jobs ...

1. Running the game
2. Scaling

Some delay will not?
But if the monitor does scaling. the graphical can devote 100% to play.

I would like to use, 1920x1080 @ 144hz when making normal use.
And 1024x768 @ 120 @ 128 @ 143 (the hz that can be used to play.)

Has anyone managed to use this to make an old AMD card (specifically a 4850) output sound over its DVI port using a normal DVI-HDMI adapter?

I gather the 'official' adapter has an EDID chip which the card recognises so it will output sound; I don't have the adapter and they're difficult to get hold of (it appears most of the 'ATI' adapters on eBay are just standard DVI-HDMI adapters) - my card has an HDMI output but always claims that the cable is disconnected.

I've tried using CRU, with the hdmi-audio and hdmi-bitstream extension blocks, on both ports, but the card still continues to claim there's no HDMI sound connected.

Actually there are a bunch of threads on overclock.net about GPU scaling adding mulitple frames of input lag on Nvidia cards when it's not supposed to, on some drivers. People were trying to force "Display no scaling" on Nvidia to avoid that.

it seems to be a driver issue, but the last time I read about that was late in 2014. It seemed to turn up every so often.

There was also a thread on blurbusters about the GPU scaling input lag issue and "display no scaling" not even being in some drivers. Hopefully it's been long fixed.

Since crimson I'm unable to downclock my gpu memory, they are running at 100% (1350mhz) at all time. Nothing has been changed besides the software listed below, exact same timings as the ones before the crimson update, and all of em downclocked the memory as intended. I have used DDU and reinstalled everything twice, suggestions?

Using:
atikmdag-patcher-1.3.6
cru-1.2.6 (96hz, 110hz, 120hz profiles)
radeon-crimson-15.12-win10-64bit

I solved it, the right refresh rate was 29 Htz I was not able to see it in windows Display settings It was on a drop down in Nvidia control panel. Question1 how to prevent windows to use 3840 X 2160 @ 30 Htz or to remove it from the list?
Question2 any setting in Nvidia CP to reduce computer's fan speed?
