The TV is changing the EDID to include VRR when enabling game mode, but since the device ID stays the same, the EDID override affects both modes, so VRR stays active when disabling game mode, but the TV doesn't support VRR with game mode disabled, which is why you get no signal. I'm not sure how to work around this because there's no way to do a separate EDID override for each mode if NVIDIA's driver considers both modes to be the same display. The easiest option would be to just use game mode all the time. The more advanced option would be to modify the EDID on the TV directly, but usually it's write-protected, and I'm not sure if the service menu offers a way to unlock it, and every firmware update might reset the EDID. |
