I'm not saying that it's your program's fault, I suspect Windows (using 8.1 now) and/or AMD Catalyst (14.12 Omega at the moment) have a lot to do with it failing, but I was unable to resolve the issues that I had over the past few months.AMD's driver has a bug with Windows 8.1 where EDID overrides don't always load properly after rebooting. Restarting the driver with restart.exe will load the override properly, which shows the problem is with the driver and not the override. You're right and I should've known earlier. At one point I did have a task schedule for restart.exe, but I must have set it up wrong, because I don't remember it giving me good results and I removed it. I read there is a new AMD driver coming out today. I doubt it will fix the issue but I will try it on a fresh 8.1 install and see what happens. And then I'll see if I can get restart.exe to work. I never had Samsung Magician installed, btw. In fact I don't have anything installed besides games and drivers, Visual C++ and not much else. |
