Your system doesn't meet the requirements:

Laptops with switchable graphics will not work with CRU. The problem is the resolutions are handled by the Intel GPU, but Intel's driver doesn't support EDID overrides. NVIDIA's control panel doesn't have a way to add custom resolutions with switchable graphics either. You'll have to use Intel's custom resolution options, but there's no driver patch for Intel to get around bandwidth limitations.

Bandwidth is limited by the driver and the hardware, not the cable. If the cable couldn't handle the bandwidth, you'd still be able to set the resolution, but you won't get a usable picture. It will not skip frames because of the cable.

You also mentioned DisplayPort, but only the QNIX with dual-link DVI is overclockable. Other models skip frames at higher refresh rates.

ah, i see. so seriously, there is no way for me to do this? :/
I must mention that my friend has the same monitor as me and has 120hz set on it. I think some of these newer models work, they are advertised as overclockable at least.
You really think it wont skip frames due to the cable? How is it possible that i can set the refresh rate to 112 and have it skip frames then? Wouldnt i get this unusable picture as you pointed out?

So essentially, i would be able to do it, but the driver doesnt allow me to go past a certain bandwidth, so im screwed? :/

edit: this link talks about how to hack the INF file... any thoughts?
