RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Having a problem with getting my resolutions to switch. I have win7 Pro, a Sieki SES0UY04 4k monitor/tv, ATI R9 290 GPU, 15.7.1 catalyst (can't go higher because of an old, unsupported secondary card). For several months my system was running fine with resolutions from 1920x @123hz and lower without problem but I could not get the 3840x resolution to be recognized. Even though it was in my CRU list it just wouldn't show up in the desktop resolution options.
Today I went through the procedures to try and get it back. I imported the latest hdmi.dat file, added then removed tv resolutions (this seems to be a key problem), ran the atikmdag-patcher (after the problem couldn't be solved), and possibly more but after 2 hours I can't keep track of everything I've done. I want to get my 1920x1080 @ 123hz resolution back but it only shows me the 1920x1080 @60p tv resolution. It's not in my CRU lists and I've deleted the TV resolutions extenstion block. Now that I have my 4k resolution I've lost the res that I use the most and can't seem to get it back. Any help would be VERY appreciated. EDIT: Reset everything to start from scratch, restarted (restart64) and made headway. I now have Basic and HDTV resolutions to choose from but I still can't get the resolutions I set with 123hz. EDIT: I appear to have solved my problem. After all that I did over the last 2 hours it came down to switching from Custom Extension Block to Default Extension Block. This is probably where it was originally and I changed it for reasons I cannot remember any longer. All of the resolutions available previously as well as the missing resolutions are now present and accessible. yay. |
