RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Thanks for your prompt reply @ToastyX. No luck with "LCD reduced" timings either. I tried switching polarity too because it gives me a +/+ contrary to the +/- I usually get.
I speculate that if my monitor can display the 1920x1080 properly when left untouched by CRU, there has to be a timings setting that can work. Otherwise how's it possible? I've been trying to fetch the used timings for 1920x1080 from the registry with no luck. All I have found is the values for the defined [native] resolution, either the proper one or the one set by CRU, so no gain there. I cannot find where the timings of the [current] resolution (and not the native) are, if any. My hope is that If I can find those timings for the good looking 1920x1080 (without CRU) I could pass them down to CRU settings for said resolution. Thanks again for your help. EDIT: my proper native resolution is 1920x1200@59.950Hz vertical so I tried both 60Hz and 59.95Hz with the same results so that doesn't seem to be it. MAJOR EDIT: Here is what the DumpEDID utility gives me: Original config: Code: DumpEDID v1.06 Custom CRU config with 1920x1080@60Hz LCD native Code: DumpEDID v1.06 In the custom config an extra line appears!!! Image Size : 48.0 X 30.0 cm (22.3 Inch) which is different from Maximum Image Size : 52 X 33 cm (24.2 Inch) which exists in both EDIDs (naturally). My monitor is indeed 24inch so as you can see the displayed area is indeed smaller with the CRU custom resolution! Seems like it's mistaking the display for a 22.3inch 16/10 monitor? Seems like my monitor's original 16/10 (for 1920x1200) is forced in displaying 1920x1080. The dimensions I read agree with what I see on the screen. Hope that helps diagnose the problem. It seems indeed like a display issue which downs my hopes but, like I said, originally 1920x1080 can be displayed so there has to be a way with CRU too... |
