RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)

Otherwise how's it possible? The graphics driver automatically adds some common lower resolutions as scaled resolutions if they don't exist in the EDID. CRU should list 1920x1080 by default if it's in the EDID. If 1920x1080 doesn't exist in the EDID, then 1920x1080 is GPU scaled. CRU creates EDID overrides, so if you add 1920x1080 using CRU, the graphics driver will send the resolution to the monitor instead of scaling it. If the monitor can't display 1920x1080 correctly with any of the timing options, then the only option you have is to use GPU scaling. The NVIDIA control panel has "Aspect ratio" and "No scaling" options that will keep 1920x1080 centered within 1920x1200 with GPU scaling. Seems like it's mistaking the display for a 22.3inch 16/10 monitor? Seems like my monitor's original 16/10 (for 1920x1200) is forced in displaying 1920x1080. The dimensions I read agree with what I see on the screen. Hope that helps diagnose the problem. It seems indeed like a display issue which downs my hopes but, like I said, originally 1920x1080 can be displayed so there has to be a way with CRU too...The graphics driver doesn't use the image size information, so CRU just uses generic values for detailed resolutions. This doesn't affect the image in any way. |
