Your reading comprehension isn't too hot, either. After all, in what reading-comprehension-lacking world is "Am I doing something wrong with CRU? Is there a way I can adjust the adaptive-sync range without making everything become hugeified?" complaining? What I actually came on this forum for is to seek assistance to help with a problem I did not know the cause of - per rational thinking when wanting to solve a problem. But, some people just crave attention, clearly. Are you sure you're sorry for chiming in? It more looks as if you just couldn't help yourself.

What? Just check the scaling settings or use google before coming on a forum wasting everyone's time with a non-issue. Again, what is so hard about just checking the scaling settings? Couldn't you just google the problem? I mean honestly, how in the world do you think a EDID will affect system wide scaling settings? They have nothing at all to do with eachother. All CRU does is edit the CAPABILITIES of your monitor. It does nothing at all to Windows System settings OR Video Card Driver settings, NOTHING. They are "hugified" because when you edit the EDID, it creates a new EDID for you with the edited settings and creates a backup of the original. So, when you use it the first time you may have to re-adjust resolution and scaling settings. Not hard to understand if you just read the documentation, but OBVIOUSLY you did not. And as stated many, many times in this thread, the EDID only reports the capabilities of your monitor in a SOFTWARE form to Windows. It does NOTHING to the monitor firmware or hardware otherwise. Maybe you should learn about computer basics before you do something stupid and break your computer and try to blame some innocuous program like CRU... Funny as ****. If you have problems, go into CRU with your monitor unplugged or in safe mode and delete all profiles of your monitor and then hit the "OK" button, not the "Cancel" button. Restart the computer and the default EDID will be reinstalled automatically by Windows and you are back to square 1. EZ PZ. This account is new just because I wanted to thank the creator of this tool but I have been using CRU since its alpha days.

That you think people in general even know what an EDID is shows how touch you are, and your continued ranting about "of course, it's a new EDID!" drives that fact home. The maker of the CRU application even says "I don't know why the scaling would change automatically like that", so you're completely on your own, there.

Like maybe 99% of people, no. I first followed a video guide that shows how to use CRU to edit adaptive-sync range. In that video guide, there is no resolution or scaling change shown or mentioned after restarting the computer. I also read the OP of this thread, dunno if that's what you call "the documentation" or not, but it doesn't implicitly make clear what happened, especially since I've never touched monitor scaling.

That detail implies nothing in support of your 'of course a new EDID is going to increase the scaling!' spiel.

A statement like that does the opposite of what you intended, and it tells me that you actually know hardly anything about computers, because having a couple decades of extensive experience myself what stands out to me is how ludicrous, unreasonable, and clearly based from a standpoint of inexperience your arguments and claims are. You're just a little kid who feels that knowing one thing somebody else didn't and had no reason to know makes them an elite, and who is probably trying to make-up personal self-esteem points, going about it in the wrong way, for previously being ridiculed by others for not having known something basic.

Just wow. Why would you do that when using reset-all.exe and restart64.exe immediately reverts the adaptive-sync and scaling change that CRU made? Some elite you are.

Let me tell you, not knowing or figuring that out is far more ridiculous than not knowing what an EDID is, not knowing why scaling is changing when other guides don't show or mention it happening, and when the creator of the program says about it happening, "I don't know why the scaling would change automatically like that". Why do you bother wasting everybody's time with your inexperienced and unhelpful ranting? It's just making yourself look like an ass.

At this point, I think I should lay off on you, because you're obviously very young and undeveloped in your skills of reasoning, problem-solving, and social interaction. I hope you've at least learned a lesson or two, here.
