240MHz pixel clock limit LGD056D, wanting to get higher hz than 97hz somehow.
Ive heard that my Laptop screen of the helios 300, the LGD056D display, can be oc'd to around 120hz or so. Now when i use CRU tho, i cant add more than 96.91, since that is the 240mhz barrier i have on this laptop. I wanted to know if i can somehow increase the limit in regedit or somewhere else, because at the 97hz it is super stable and i dont see ANY issues as to color change or weird lines. I tried changing around the EDID a little bit but it doesnt seem to work, please help.

240 MHz is a hardware limit. It probably uses DisplayPort internally, which is packet-based and runs at fixed clock speeds, so it can't be overclocked like LVDS.

So is there no way for me to get above 97hz on this laptop? If there is any way then that would be very nice, if not i just have to stick witth 97 i guess.

By the way, yes it does run on DisplayPort, if i cant oc it above, i can maybe buy a 120hz display or something, maybe you know one laptop display which has a 30pin connector, is 17.3inch and FHD (and of course 120hz). I dont really think i will buy a full on pc so yea

The only thing you can do is reduce the totals as much as the panel will allow. You should be able to squeeze in at least 100 Hz.
