I'm using CRU version 1.5.3.
In this case, I don't see anything wrong with the EDID. What resolutions were you looking to remove? What happens if you delete the TV resolutions data block?

Removing the TV resolutions data block caused the PC to revert to default display settings and triggered bug in the Nvidia Control Panel.
I want to remove all unused resolutions and, if possible, keep only FullHD@146Hz.

Online EDID decode tool said this about my overridden bin file. I wonder if its related to the problem in any way

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello can someone help me witn CRU, I'm trying to set the resolution on my FHD laptop to 4k but it keeps showing only a quarter of the screen everytime i set it to 4K, i thought putting the scaling at lower than what it is would fix that but the only thing changing was the placement of files on desktop and not the screen. Please i need your help in this.

This exact situation is explained in the first post:

  • CRU adds monitor resolutions, not scaled resolutions. Lower resolutions can be scaled up to the native resolution by enabling GPU scaling in the graphics driver's control panel, but higher resolutions won't be scaled down by the GPU. Higher resolutions will only work if the monitor can handle them.
  • Laptop displays usually don't have scalers and can't display non-native resolutions without GPU scaling. To add other refresh rates, add the refresh rate at the native resolution. The graphics driver will automatically add the refresh rate to lower scaled resolutions.

None of those are actual problems; edid-decode is overly nitpicky. The real issue is NVIDIA's driver is buggy, so you need to report the issue to them.

I appreciate the input, I'm asking about this because apparently some games have this resolution scaling option where you can play on higher resolution that the game downscales to be playable on my monitor which results in sharper images and seemingly higher resolution. I tried that in my laptop despite it being FHD it worked, and when i was tweaking CRU I managed to make the laptop render at a higher resolution, 4k to be exact which made the screen sharper and more high res. The problem is that it's inconsistent and that higher res somehow doesn't change anything about the games i play. They remain in smaller resolution which is FHD and can't be changed to 4k like the desktop screen.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello I'm trying to set up a custom resolution on my 17:9 JVC NZ8 projector. It's native resolution is 4096 x 2160@120. So I'm trying to make a 21:9 of 4096 x 1756@120. Unfortunately Nvidia control panel "customize" button is greyed out and when I try to add 4096 as a custom resolution the entry is "red" and I cannot submit the resolution. Also I've noticed that 3840 x 2160@120 is showing up as "Native" in the control panel, which is incorrect.
