Hi there! I'm extremely new to this kind of stuff and don't quite understand all of the tech jargon. But I have 3 - 32" curved monitors, all Dell:
S3220DGF 2560 x 1440 164 Hz S3220DGF 2560 x 1440 164 Hz S3222DGM 2560 x 1440 165 Hz (primary) I can run all three monitors at max refresh rate when they are set as multiple displays. When I try to use Nvidia Surround, I'm capped at 60 Hz. I have tried to use Nvidia control to customize the resolution of each monitor to be exactly 164 Hz with no decibels, and it reflects that in windows display settings and Nvidia. However, it still is capping me at 60 Hz in surround mode. I downloaded CRU and tried to "copy" the profile for the S3220DGF to the S3222DGM and also tried to manually adjust the extension block to be the same exact refresh rate. However, when I tell it to restart, the main monitor that I'm adjusting does not come back after a few seconds and my computer freezes. I have to turn off the PC, turn off the monitor, reboot, reset all the changes in CRU, restart again, then I can turn the main monitor back on and have to reset windows display settings all over again. I've tried a few different ways to get the numbers exactly the same and restart the graphics driver, but it crashes every time. Any suggestions on how I can get the refresh rate the same and higher than 60 Hz in surround? Thanks in advance! EDIT: I think I've sorted it out. When I made the custom resolutions in Nvidia to make all 3 monitors 164 Hz, I didn't adjust the timing manually and make sure all fields matched. I copied the DGF settings to the DGM, but then the monitor flickered. So I copied the DGM timing settings to the DGF monitors and they both seem to be doing fine. I was then able to go into Nvidia Surround and configure the 3 monitors to 164 Hz.

Hello!
I seem to be having the idle power draw issue on my GPU. I tried using this tool to increase blanking for all my monitors but without success. I also tried lower resolutions but even using 60Hz with high blanking number doesn't help. Is there something I can do? Questions. Does CVT-rb and CVT-rb2 improve frametimes and latency? Does using it degrade quality? and Does it lower power emissions?

Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I am relatively new to CRU, so I am writing here seeking help because it doesn't work for my case. I have an RTX 3090, which outputs to a Samsung S95C. The EDID shows that it does not support 8 channels LPCM (7.1 speaker configuration), so I attempted to implement it using CRU. I modified the active profile, as you can see in the picture (I added 8 channels LPCM and the 7.1 speaker configuration). Then I tried both restart and restart64, but when I open MonInfo, it still shows that I am limited to 6 channels LPCM. Additionally, when I try to set up the speakers from the audio properties, it shows '5.1 Surround Audio' twice, which also seems strange to me. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.NVIDIA's driver is currently broken and doesn't report extension blocks correctly, and you edited the extension blocks in a way that replaces the first extension block and has default extension blocks incompatible with NVIDIA as described in the first post. I'm testing a workaround for NVIDIA's issue. Run reset-all.exe and restart. Then try this and see if you can edit the existing extension block: https://www.monitortests.com/cru-ext-test.zip |

Latency is a complex topic, but generally the timing parameters don't have a significant effect unless you increase the vertical blanking very high, which many monitors won't allow except at lower refresh rates. The refresh time is fixed based on the refresh rate, so increasing the vertical blanking would decrease the scanout time but increase the time between scanouts. Whether that would increase or decrease latency would depend on when the frame is updated and whether you're using vsync or not. G-SYNC/FreeSync is already optimized for latency. The timing parameters themselves don't have an effect on image quality, but TVs and HDMI monitors might process TV-specific timing parameters differently from others, which can change the image, especially the color formats. This is usually not an issue with DisplayPort or DVI. The timing parameters would only affect power consumption if the GPU is not clocking down the memory when idle because the vertical blanking is too low. |

This means all of the monitors must be using the same resolution and refresh rate, and the detailed resolution timing parameters must match exactly on all of the monitors. There's also a chance that the HDMI port might not be synchronized with the DisplayPorts, depending on the video card. |
