If that doesn't help, then there's a signal quality issue somewhere. If it's not the cable, then it's the TV. Make sure you have the latest firmware. The VRR flicker might not be fixable. maybe I didn't select the one I should, because there are two on the same page. one is off by default. both at 40? or ... ![]() |

You shouldn't have to change anything. Return the TV and get something that works correctly, or contact TCL support and hope they can fix the problem. |

Use PC mode without VRR, because it works with backlight flickering on many monitors and it is also unstable with big drops ALLM is not a feature of the game mode with VRR, but part of the HDMI standard, and it turns on in any TV mode when switching to a high refresh Sometimes reducing FRL is not enough, I have two TVs TCL C735 and C755 both work fine in 144Hz, but on the C735 there were drops until I buy a certified HDMI cable |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
First of all, thanks for all the effort and the great tool.
Appreciate some help. I downloaded the latest v1.5.3. Dont seem to get it to work with my setup. Monitor: Dell U3011 natively supporting 2560x1600. Interface used: HDMI Laptop: Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen12 w/ Intel Ultra Core 7 165U Graphics chip: Intel graphics Meteor Lake OS: Windows 11 24H2 I used to drive this mon with an old X1 carbon Gen5 by creating custom res 2560x1600 @ 60Hz, via HDMI, it works fine for many years. With the new X1 carbon, Intel removed the custom resolution option in their graphics tool, it only sees 1920x1200. I tried the CRU.exe, ok and then restart64, and also EDID override by exporting .exe & run it, both ways do not see the added 2560x1600 res. I added the res in the main "Detailed resolution" as well as in the CTA-861 extension block, using CVT-RB. Likely, I might have missed something or did wrong. Thanks very much. |

I also see a few more res appearing in windows display settings afterward: 2560x1440, 2048x1536, 2048x1152, 1856x1392, 1792x1344, which are perfectly fine. ![]() |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hey I'm trying to use this utility to make a custom EDID for a very strange LCD screen but it seems to be preventing me from entering the screen details.
The screen is a 10.1" 8k monochrome LCD from a 3D printer with a HDMI adapter board. Unfortunately the HDMI adapter board doesn't include a correct EDID so the screen doesn't 'just work'. The screen is very strange because being monochrome it maps the RGB channels from the HDMI feed to physical pixels, essentially 'stretching' the image by three times in the horizontal dimension. This reduces the bandwidth over the HDMI cable by a factor of three which makes it possible to drive such a high resolution screen over normal HDMI 2.0. I've attached the settings I need to use when making the EDID. When I try to make an EDID in the CRU with these settings it goes red when I try to enter the 4320 pixel horizontal resolution and won't let me continue, even though that is indeed what this screen needs to be. Is this a hard-coded limitation of the utility, or am I able to bypass this limit somehow? |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
ToastyX I posted in my own thread, but wanted to post here.
Your new update 1.5.3 works! Following your instructions on setting the VRR range 255-360Hz and deleting ALL 2560x1440 resolutions everywhere except the main 359Hz one, works like a charm. Now checking the modes available shows: ![]() and Windows advanced display settings shows only 360Hz. ![]() Now, I can play Sekiro in Fullscreen mode, with HDR, at 200 FPS, at 360Hz. It's glorious!!!! |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hey, I tried using CRU to get aspect ratio 17/12. I play on a 2560x1440 300hz IPS monitor. However it always causes extreme ghosting like green and black ghosting in game. Is there anyway to solve this or should I just stick to the in game 4:3 or 3:2 setting. I would prefer 17:12 but the game doesnt have an option. Im also on an AMD Radeon Card (7900 XTX). Thank you
