I don't think anyone with this monitor would be monitoring this thread. If you're using DisplayPort, you can't disable DSC with an EDID. It might be possible with HDMI by editing the HDMI 2.x data block, but only if NVIDIA's driver is not ignoring EDID overrides. If the driver is ignoring EDID overrides and the monitor doesn't have a way to disable DSC, the registry method is the only way around that. |

Some TVs might treat non-CTA timings differently though. |

I have already tested this with my monitor and native EDID but there is no way to limit 360 hertz to 240 hertz so that 360 is not available at all. Which causes some problems in games that were previously configured or not configured at all That's why I'm looking for the EDID from the younger version of the monitor. I could buy a new 240 hertz monitor for this and then return it to the store, but in my opinion that would be disrespectful. |

If EDID overrides are being ignored, another EDID won't help unless you're using a hardware EDID emulator. If EDID overrides are not being ignored, then you can just delete 360 Hz using CRU. |

I don't quite understand what you mean, in my case, switching between monitor modes has different edids, and I can change the edid, but no changes are applied, but if I load an edid from another mode into one mode, everything works, but still manual editing has no result |

I meant the reverse, ive deleted the tv resolutions and kept one resolution for 59.94hz which madvr says I have no framedrops/repeats, how do I verify if my tv treats the custom resolution different from tv resolution? i have a sony a80l oled, if I set the timing for automatic HDTV I get framedrops like 1.57 in madvr, and if i set the one from madvr its closer to CVT RB in totals but I get the correct playback I think, madvr shows no framedrops/repeated frames Thats why I would like to know if there would be some visual downgrade |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi all, I want to setup a custom 5K resolution for my Samsung ViewFinity S9 display S27C900P because my Windows 11 machine struggles to always identify the screen and most of the time only offers 4K.
All I can find in the official specs from Samsung is "Optimal Resolution 5120 x 2880 @ 60Hz" Now I wonder what the right values are to input in the Detailed Resolution screen for my display? Resolution: Active would be: H = 5120 and V = 2880. but all the others I have no clue: Front porch Sync width Black Porch Blanking Total Sync Polarity Frequency: RefreshRate would be "60.000 Hz" I guess, but: Horizontal Pixel clock Interlaced ? Do a you have an idea where can I find the right values for my screen? I used Google, Perplexity and forum search here already and could find anything Thank you! |
