Enabling G-Sync in already compatibile monitor
Hello,

Recently I bought Lenovo Legion 5(Ryzen 7 260 and RTX5060) with built in 15,1 OLED screen. At this moment I know it officialy does not support G-Sync nor Freesync but I can see that in CRU there is Freesync block(by default, I didnt add it), so it seems like this screen supports VRR in some form but its not enabled. How can I make it to work? For now I dont have any G-sync option in Nvidia control panel and Freesync on AMD integrated graphics is greyed out. Also, I can set any refresh rate in range from 40 to 165Hz in custom resolution tool in Nvidia control panel and it simply works. So, from my perspective (though I'm no expert), this panel should fully support VRR.

Im including screenshot from cru.

The FreeSync data block is AMD only. If the laptop supports FreeSync, I don't know why it would be grayed out in the AMD control panel. This is something you should ask Lenovo support about.

I was able to activate freesync switch in AMD Control Panel by changing to integrated gpu and adding range limits(by default they are blank and I dont remember what I wrote in these boxes, I dont exactly know how to calculate those parameters) in display properties but windows still said VRR is unsupported, so its something. Is there no way of doing something similar to make gsync work? For me, it looks like freesync not working mostly because edid is not properly configured and leaved mostly blank, I dont know it thats the case also for gsync.

FreeSync shouldn't need the range limits if the FreeSync data block is present. G-SYNC would need the range limits for adaptive sync, but it would only work if the panel already supported adaptive sync. As far as I know, the laptop only supports FreeSync with the AMD GPU.
