Is this frame skipping ? ? ?
GRAPHIC CARD: Sapphire 7900 XTX Nitro+ Samsung vRAM - ASIC 45%

Factory Hidden Menu + OSD Settings and Bias LED: https://imgur.com/a/RO5e13Q
( GPU DP-1 and Monitor DP are connected with "Club 3D CAC-2068" Cable )

is this frame skipping or some other issue ? ? ?
happens on default settings at 60Hz, and CRU OC settings

tested in Edge browser, see all pics

RE: Is this frame skipping ? ? ?
That looks like tearing from the browser. Try the test windowed instead of full screen.

same happens, if rows are in the middle of the windowed screen it's ok, but if i scroll page up/down then same rows as in fullscreen have same tearing

btw have you seen all the pics ? at the bottom the white ones ? you have to click show more

RE: Is this frame skipping ? ? ?
Yes, I saw all the pics. This isn't frame skipping. Frame skipping would have gaps with fully black squares. The browser is tearing as if vsync were disabled for some reason. Try the test with Chrome.

thank you for pointing me in the right direction, chrome gave even worse result, but when you mentioned vsync i went to radeon settings and.... problem solved ?
see screenshot at the bottom of the link

i have few more questions

1. would you change anything in my CRU settings ? those are ABSOLUTE minimal working/stable settings

2. before this monitor i had AOC AG322QC4 - 144Hz and it had some horizontal lines that where mostly pronounced on blue elements in apps, website buttons, and blue windows title bar, scrollbar etc... different GPU and cable tested

on this Asus monitor lines are 60% more pronounced than on AOC Huh

From 183.921Mhz to 183.935Mhz lines appear/disappear randomly, anything above .935 lines are permanent and .920 or lower they disappear permanently

here are two pictures and video, i spent half a day trying to make few good pics, lines are MUCH more pronounced and visible when looking directly at the screen, the phone camera simply couldn't capture it, also on the video you can see they randomly come and go, mostly noticeable around the word "Utility" that's just on video they show up equally across whole elements

https://imgur.com/a/sJNAQKo

any idea how to resolve this ?

3. can you please make profiles remember/import custom monitor names ?

4. is there any command line that i can use to make .bat file, for one click auto load profile and restart
or if i can export settings from registry and make .reg file

thank you for CRU ❤️

EDIT: apparently handshake and thumbs up smilies aren't recognized on the forum

Whatever works is fine.

I've seen that on some LG IPS panels in the past, but these are VA panels from different manufacturers, so I don't know how you managed to find two monitors with that problem. I consider it a design flaw of the panel or panel controller. There's no way to resolve it except to get a different monitor with a different panel.

Enable "Import complete EDID" when importing.

You can export .exe files and use them in .bat files with command-line options:

(09-07-2012 09:06 PM)ToastyX Wrote:  Command-line options:
  • Exported .exe files:
    • /i - Install EDID without prompting
    • /r - Reset EDID without prompting
  • reset-all.exe:
    • /q - Reset without prompting
  • restart.exe/restart64.exe:
    • /q - Restart without prompting (or rename the file to restart-only.exe)
    • /r - Activate recovery mode without prompting

yes but the goal is to get lowest possible working values right, or ... ? to reduce input lag ? like with RAM timings yes ?

ToastyX > Enable "Import complete EDID" when importing.

OMG didn't notice it until just now, and i first went trough whole CRU before clicking import Dodgy ( maybe move the option inside CRU main window ? a tick square between import/export )

it took me some ~30 min to figure this out

i seen command's in main CRU page a week ago but didn't know how to make them work, and since am not a programmer i had to dig out and open all the scripts i made over the years that i use automated/daily

here it is Big Grin ( i use "MoreClockTool" and run adrenalin only when i need to record, hence the rename lines )

CD C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext\
Rename RadeonSoftware.exe -RadeonSoftware.exe

@Start "" "C:\PORTABLE\CRU\ASUS XG32WCMS - OC.exe" /i

Timeout /t 2 /NoBreak >NUL

@Start "" "C:\PORTABLE\CRU\Restart64.exe" /q

Timeout /t 7 /NoBreak >NUL

CD C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext\
Rename -RadeonSoftware.exe RadeonSoftware.exe

--------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: i calibrated colors for 284Hz Dodgy they are off on 183Hz
now if i could somehow send monitor R.G.B. channels settings trough DDC

No, lower values reduce bandwidth, not lag. Higher values would speed up data transmission, but most monitors don't accept high enough values to make a significant difference at the highest refresh rate, and FreeSync/VRR already takes care of that for lower frame rates.

i thought these are various response timings, and when lowered the strain of high pixel clock would improve response, smoothness etc...

added Lowest/Highest settings screenshots, i think highest causes more freesync flickering, ill need to test more

these are your replies i found on the forum, so you get why i thought LOWER = BETTER

""The goal when dealing with LCD monitors is to reduce the blanking as low as the monitor and video card can handle in order to reduce the horizontal scan rate and the pixel clock. Blanking is the period between each line and each frame that isn't shown on the screen, reducing the vertical total to 1450 is the simplest most effective change you can make. It's possible to tweak it down further, but not by much.

For reference:

Front Porch + Sync Width + Back Porch = Blanking
Active + Blanking = Total

Pixel clock is the total number of pixels per second.
Horizontal Total * Vertical Total * Refresh Rate = Pixel Clock
2720 * 1450 * 120 = 473280000 (473.28 MHz)

Horizontal scan rate is the number of lines per second.
Vertical Total * Refresh Rate = Horizontal Scan Rate
1450 * 120 = 174000 (174 KHz)

GPU will not reduce the memory clock when idle if the vertical blanking is too low because there won't be enough time between refreshes to retrain the memory without screen corruption. Horizontal values can still be reduced if necessary.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The goal is to reduce the pixel clock and horizontal scan rate as low as the monitor can handle.
Reducing the horizontal and vertical totals will reduce the pixel clock
reducing the vertical total will reduce the horizontal scan rate

Because active + blanking = total and we want to reduce the totals without changing the active resolution, we have to reduce the blanking.

Because front porch + sync width + back porch = blanking, we have to reduce one or more of those values to reduce the blanking.

Front porch, sync width, and back porch can be any values the monitor will accept. Reducing the total in my program reduces the back porch because that's what NVIDIA's control panel does.

I mentioned reducing the vertical total to 1450 because that's the simplest most effective change you can make, and it gives you an exact 120 Hz timing. It's possible to tweak it down further, but not by much.

The lowest horizontal total that has been stable for me is 2704. Horizontal values should be a multiple of 8 because they seem to get rounded anyway. 2700 will work, but that just gets rounded to 2704. In this case, the default front porch (48) and sync width (32) don't need to be changed because the total can accommodate them.

If you set the vertical front porch and sync width to 1, the monitor can handle a vertical total as low as 1443, but some video cards can't handle lower than 1445.""
