RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
Wow thank you thats sorted my issue its working awesome on tf2 now can really notice the difference Smile

Also installed 60 HZ refresh rates.

My final question i saw your post somewhere that saying setting lightboost on your monitor to 10 % improves things which i have done Smile i assume its okay to put strobe brightness in the control panel to whatever i want.

And btw keep up the good work its really cool to see some one making a program for free but not only that supporting it and helping people out with their questions.

Once i get paid will be donating

The LightBoost setting on the monitor is the same as the strobe brightness setting. While 10% produces the least blur, the difference 10% and 50% is barely noticeable.

RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
Bumping mssg #655

1. Have the Asus VG248QE w/ toasty installed (120 + 121 Hz).

-The Lightboost Utility is "unlocked" in Monitor OSD
- Advanced Settings Screen Resolution \ Monitor lists

59 Hz
60
110
120 (seleted)
144

I didn't install the 59 via Toasty (tho don't consider this significant) .... The 60 and 144 were non strobed in install utility, 110 ans 120 were strobed. It does not list that is specifically designate anything as strobed / not strobed in Windows Screen Resolution \ Advanced Settings tho.

-The utility starts with Windows and the Strobelight Utility icon is in the system tray at right on taskbar. Opening it it says strobing is on / Strobe brightness is set at 10%.

-nVidia brightness, contrast and gamma as per blurbusters recommendations.

-UFO test shows on 30 and 60 fps. Using Firefox 34.0.5. IE shows 33 and 67 fps, Chrome shows 30 and 60 fps

-System is a 4770k (4.6 Ghz) w/ twin 780s in SLI

- No change if SLI disabled

Suggestions as to why UFO test won't run at 120 Hz ?
Any other way to determine if it is strobing or do I just go back to 144 hz non strobed ?

Something weird is going on because if the EDID override wasn't working, 100 Hz and 85 Hz should also be listed. 59 Hz will automatically be added by the driver if 60 Hz is installed, but it shouldn't be there if you didn't install 60 Hz.

I just remembered something that can cause problems with installed refresh rates. Check the Device Manager under "Display adapters" and make sure there are no mirror drivers or anything other than your video cards. LogMeIn's mirror driver has been known to cause problems, and there may be others.

Does the "Strobe brightness" option work? That would mean the monitor is in LightBoost mode. The monitor's menu should also say "3D-Mode" in the top right if LightBoost is working.

The test requires desktop composition to work properly. If you're using Windows 7, make sure you're using one of the Aero themes and not Basic or Classic.

Strobelight does not support the BenQ Z-series monitors, but they have a strobing feature that can be adjusted using this: http://www.blurbusters.com/benq/strobe-utility/

RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
I'm getting the message "No compatible displays found."

I am using an ASUS VG248QE monitor, my video card is a GeForce 780 GTX, I uninstalled GeForce experience, I am using a DVI dual link cable (its DVI dual link on both ends, no adapter/converter), and I checked all the boxes when installing and I properly restarted then ran strobelight.exe as administrator. Below is the debug log:

[2015-01-12 19:42:27.889] LOAD(AMD): LoadLibrary("atiadlxx.dll") = ERROR 126
[2015-01-12 19:42:27.890] LOAD(AMD): LoadLibrary("atiadlxy.dll") = ERROR 126

[2015-01-12 19:44:15.688] INIT: No compatible displays found.

Can I get some help with this please?

edit: I'm also not using that Samsung program and I don't have any mirror drivers installed under Display in Device Manager

I think you have a defective monitor. The log shows the initialization process is happening normally, but 3D mode stays locked. The only other person that reported this problem turned out to have a defective monitor, which also happened to be a VG248QE.

Since you have an NVIDIA card, try the CRU method (#3): http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/

If that doesn't work, then it's definitely the monitor.

Alright thanks, I'll try your CRU program, then get a replacement and see if this persists.

RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
Good evening everyone.

I recently acquired a BenQ XL Series XL2411Z monitor. I went over to Blur Busters to install the necessary software.

The Blur Busters Strobe Utility worked fine. The issue I'm having is trying to install the LightBoost. From what I read LightBoost does work in the BenQ XL Series XL2411Z right?

I ran the StrobeLight-setup and restarted my PC, that worked fine. Then I ran the StrobeLight application and it is taking about a good 40min to initialize. I am thinking this isn't normal...

I have canceled it and restarted it a few times. Right now it is up to Pass:5,000.

Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
