AOC E2070 SWN OC Help
I used the CRU utility to change the refresh rate to 75hz and it works great. But, the desktop resolution downscales. My monitor's original resolution is 1600x900. I set the CRU resoltion to 1600x900 (same res.) @75hz but when I apply it in Windows Resolution settings the desktop res downscales. But, in games it keeps the 1600x900 resolution and the 75 hz refresh. Only the Windows desktop downscales itself. Help pls?

I don't know what you mean. CRU doesn't downscale, and resolutions should work the same way on the desktop and in games. Have you checked the Windows DPI settings?

When I set the resolution settings in CRU to be 1600x900 on the Windows Desktop it does not display that resolution. Instead, it displays 1280x1024 even though the resolution is set to 1600x900. But, in games the 1600x900 resolution works at the 75 hz refresh.

You can tell that the games display the proper resolution but the Desktop does not because the desktop is "fuzzy". It's like when you are fresh installing Windows from a USB key, that kind of resolution.

RE: AOC E2070 SWN OC Help
That seems like a driver bug. What video card do you have? Under established resolutions, make sure 1280x1024 @ 75 Hz is disabled, and make sure 1280x1024 doesn't exist as a standard resolution. The driver might be trying to scale because it thinks 1280x1024 is the highest resolution.

My video card is the AMD A6-6400K integrated AMD Radeon HD 8470D.

No good. Same thing happens even after I apply those settings.

Use the "Export..." button to save the settings to a file. Then upload it here.

Here are the settings files. They are all the same just different filetype since I wasn't sure which one you needed.

RE: AOC E2070 SWN OC Help
You don't have any other resolutions defined, so it shouldn't be a video card scaling issue. It shouldn't be possible for the same resolution to work one way on the desktop and another way in games. Are you sure the refresh rate is not changing back to 60 Hz in the game? If this were a monitor timing issue or a scaling issue, it should affect everything the same way.

I found out your monitor only has VGA. Have you tried pressing the auto adjust button on the monitor? If that doesn't help, try copying and pasting the settings for 60 Hz and just change the refresh rate to 75 Hz. If that doesn't work, your monitor might not be able to handle higher refresh rates properly.

I have tested that the refresh rate stays 75hz in game by using the Minecraft console on V-Sync. It stays at a constant 75 fps. But I am sure that my monitor can handle the 75hz refresh rate because the refresh rate is kept in game and also in the desktop. But my only problem is that the desktop scales down. I can include a picture of what the scaled down desktop looks like if you want from my phone because screenshots keep the 1600x900 resolution although real world results are very different. I've also tried the auto adjust button already. Doesn't help.

EDIT: I have tried what you suggested but the same thing happens. Here is my new settings file. I hope that you can debug it and tell me what I am doing wrong. Frankly, I have gotten used to the 75hz refresh rate and going back to 60hz just hurts my eyes. Please help me get this working. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5321...ttings.bin

RE: AOC E2070 SWN OC Help
I can't help you because the problem doesn't make sense. I don't understand how the desktop can be scaled down and cropped without affecting games. CRU doesn't have a way to do that. You don't have any other resolutions defined, so the video card shouldn't be scaling. You're not using HDMI, so it's not an overscan issue. That leaves the monitor, but then it should affect games unless the refresh rate is changing back. I can't think of anything else that would cause what you described.

Those aren't the settings you had before. Import the old settings and try again.
