RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Got my first oled monitor. How does oled react to overclock and how safe is it? Btw max res has 980mhz pixel clock, but max limit is 1080mhz, do I have a reserve for overclock?) Lg gen 3 2k 240hz display (KTC Q2753SEL)

With the new RTX 5000 series, EDID overriding with DSC enabled works seamlessly. 3840x2160 240 HZ

Usually any monitor with a scaler will not allow refresh rates out of safe operating range, and some monitors will skip frames at unsupported refresh rates instead of running the panel at a higher refresh rate. Any monitor with an on-screen menu has a scaler, so that's most monitors. 1080 MHz is the limit for DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 at 8 bpc and 4:4:4 chroma without DSC.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi,

I have two monitor, a real HDR monitor (AW3423DWF) and an old monitor that is "HDR-Compatible", i'm trying to use the Windows + Alt + B shortcut to toggle HDR on the main monitor, but it also enable it on the other monitor (and it's horrible).

I've found this utlity and removed the HDR Datablock from the extension data block, but it's still turning on HDR even after a restart.

A few years ago another user had the same problem, but I wasn't able to find the solution (the link to the image he posted about a setting he removed disappeared) apparently it was related to freesync but I don't have any Freesync related data block on this monitor.

I'll attach a screenshot of the remaining data blocks, if you guys have any idea what I could disable to remove the HDR capability of the monitor.

EDIT : When I change settings in AMD Adrenalin, for some reason it work when I hit the shortcut the second monitor doesn't enable HDR, but if I restart the computer it goes back to enabling it again.

Since your video card has HDMI, get an HDMI to DVI cable and try DVI on the monitor first. If that doesn't work, get an HDMI EDID emulator and use the HDMI to DVI cable.

OK but I didn't find DVI or HDMI cables in my home. They all are lost. I need to buy new cable somewhere (on computer shop or online marketplace). What is the best variant to try: HDMI-DVI cable or DVI-DVI cable? In my monitor there are DVI and VGA ports, and in video card DVI, HDMI, VGA ports.

I'm having the same issue, but with a Acer KA272U as the "HDR compatible" monitor that I want to disable HDR on.

What I've found is if I disable the "HDMI support" data block and restart windows, I get the desired effect (main monitor gets HDR, Acer gets it removed) however the Acer monitor becomes super blurry and unusable. I checked the resolution and it's set correctly, but it just doesn't display correctly.

I noticed the same "fix" from another user related to FreeSync as well, mine does have Freesync but removing that data block and restarting does not disable HDR.

I'm also using an AMD Graphics card; 7900 XTX which seems to be related in this issue.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
My mistake. I set the borders in both directions without thinking. Here is the fixed version.

Thanks, I tried your EDIDs, and the single resolution one is better, the one with both resolutions sometimes creates stretching problems.
The minimum resolution is 1650? Is it really not possible to do 1620 or 1600? That some games have ultrawide compatibility issues with this resolution

Maximum border is 255 per side. 2160 - 255 - 255 = 1650

Either DVI or HDMI-DVI will work with your monitor, but HDMI-DVI will be more future-proof because newer video cards don't have DVI, and you'll be able to use the cable with an HDMI EDID emulator if that doesn't help.

You should report these issues to AMD. Deleting the HDR static metadata data block should have been enough. Disabling the deep color options in the HDMI data block might help, but then you'll be limited to 8 bpc.
