It probably only supports up to 165 MHz pixel clock, which is enough for 1920x1080/1200 @ 60 Hz. 2560x1440 would only be possible at around 40 Hz. Also, Intel didn't add support for EDID overrides until later, so CRU would have no effect directly. The alternative method described in the first post might work, but only for resolutions up to 165 MHz pixel clock. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I have an Acemagic Mini PC with a Core i9 11900H using Intel Graphics that has 2 x HDMI 2.0 outputs, and 1 x USB-C output. I have 3 screens setup - 2 x Alienware 34" displays at 3440 x 1440 and 1 x Samsung 27" at 2560 x 1440 (portrait). I am running 1 of the Alienware screens via USB-C and it works perfectly at 3440 x 1440 @ 60hz (I am doing dev work so don't need higher refresh), as does my Samsung at 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz via HDMI.
However, on my 2nd Alienware screen via HDMI I can only get a resolution of 2560 x 1440 @ 120Hz. I have tried setting a custom resolution of 3440 x 1440 @ 60Hz but when I restart it defaults to 1920 x 1080 @ 120Hz. It always forces to 120Hz on this screen but not on my other one. Can anyone provide any suggestions as to how I can force it to do 3440 x 1440? Thanks in advance |

In fact, 3440x1440 @ 100 Hz should work with HDMI 2.0. What model are the monitors? Run this and post the edid-test.txt file here: https://www.monitortests.com/edid-test.zip |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello everyone! I’m new here and not very familiar with everything yet, but I’ve run into a puzzle that I think can definitely be solved here. I’d also like to learn the info I need along the way.
So, my problem is this: I have an ASUS ROG Strix SE 2022 laptop that has a display with Dolby Vision support, but it doesn’t actually show up as HDR. I’m wondering how I can make Windows 11 recognize my monitor as HDR or Dolby Vision, so I can actually take advantage of this feature. https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-strix/r...22-series/ this is the laptop |

You might need to install Dobly Access and the HEVC extension for that. This is all I can find: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog-gaming...-p/1025787 |

Running restart.exe only restarts the graphics driver. It doesn't change anything, so running reset-all.exe wouldn't help. Not being able to boot into safe mode indicates a serious problem, either a hardware issue or data corruption, and not being able to run CRU is also unusual. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi, can someone help me understand this?
I have a 45GX950A monitor running at 5120×2160 and 165 Hz. From what I understand, the pixel clock should be around 1900 MHz before DSC (Display Stream Compression) kicks in. DSC is supposed to activate once the display clock exceeds roughly 1620 MHz, and at that point, NVIDIA’s driver should ignore EDID overrides. However, EDID overrides for HDR do work for me. Why does the override still work on an RTX 5090? Is this something unique to the monitor, perhaps related to its dual-mode behavior even when it’s not active, or is there another explanation? |
