CRU does not simulate screens.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
With all due respect, I want to first thank you for this amazing application and keeping it updated, for free!
I am sorry if I am repeating this question (as I can't search this thread), is it any possible to use this on laptop Windows 10 1709?
I have created a custom profile in "detailed resolution" although I have no idea how to activate it. I am confident that the profile I have created will work on my laptop, only if I could know how to use it...
Oh btw my specs are Acer E15-575G, i5-7200U (620HD), 940MX, 16GB DDR4 RAM

It should work with the latest Intel driver, but some people seem to have trouble with Intel's driver not supporting EDID overrides on some laptops for some reason. Regardless, laptop screens don't have scalers and can't use non-native resolutions without enabling GPU scaling first.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Will this utility help me fix an issue that i am having when i connect my Sony 65 Inch tv. Some games run at 1080p even though i have it set to 4k 3840X2160. When i go to the nvidia control panel i notice that under resolutions it says 1080p native but i can choose higher since my tv does support it.

My tv sony xbr65x850b

It could. Make sure 3840x2160 is the first detailed resolution, and in the extension block under data blocks, edit the TV resolutions data block and make sure none of the resolutions are marked as native (listed in bold).

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
System: AMD A8-7410 (integrated graphics) / Win10

I'm trying to get AMD to not use the maximum reported resolution, but rather a (standard) resolution I select. Using CRU, I deleted all resolutions except the one I want (1280x800). And rebooted. But it doesn't seem to work, the AMD is still using the wrong resolution.

Any ideas?

Is this a laptop or a desktop? Keep in mind laptop screens can't display non-native resolutions without GPU scaling. If this is for a monitor, make sure to define it as a detailed resolution, not standard, and make sure there are no resolutions in the extension block.
