RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
I have an HD 7950, Qnix 2710, latest beta Catalyst drivers.
I am having issues with video playback, particularly with flash videos in Firefox (it stutters in Chrome, but it displays) and Media Player Classic. Video shows as black, but audio plays. There might be more issues but I haven't tried much beyond this. I used the latest version of the patcher. It doesn't matter what refresh rate I am at, the video issue is present as long as the patcher is in effect. I can apply the patcher without making any custom resolutions and the issue will occur. That said, I'm having no issues with getting to 120Hz when it is applied, so I'm happy that works at least. I tried the latest release version of Catalyst and 1.2.2 of the patcher with no luck. I posted on Reddit about this issue and I had someone tell me that they have the same video card/monitor/catalyst version, but they used 1.2.0. I can't manage to find a download for it, but I think I'd like to try that. Otherwise, I have no idea why this is happening or how I can fix it. Thank you. Edit: It really varies. I opened a .mp4 and it doesn't work for example (just audio), but .avi works fine. At least from the two files I tried. Edit 2: I used the 1.1.2 patcher and have the same issue. Edit 3: I've been informed that the patcher breaks DXVA hardware acceleration and this is what is causing my issues. Is this planned to be addressed? One thing I was really looking forward to was watching video @ 120 FPS. :\ |
