What browser? Can you link to one of these videos?

Try the Windows Media Center workaround first. Then install the appropriate codecs. The K-Lite Codec Pack includes the most common codecs.

I'm using Chrome but all browsers seem affected. I don't think it's specific videos but this one for example doesn't work http://youtu.be/UHqx3-mfHAY.

Try the media center fix, didn't work. Also I've already installed codec packs.

Thanks for your help.

Hmm, MCDU only seems to affect the 64-bit decoder while Chrome is using the 32-bit decoder. Use the Codec Tweak Tool that comes with the K-Lite Codec Pack and disable the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoders under MS Codec Tweaks. Here is the standalone version if you don't have it: http://www.codecguide.com/download_other.htm

Disabling the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoders using the codec tweak tool worked. Thanks for all your help, much appreciated!

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Yesterday I received my new Asus R9 290 and installed the latest beta Catalyst driver (14.3). I also downloaded the latest patcher (1.2.3) and used CRU to OC my X-Star to 96hz again. However, if I do so, my GPU's memory clock speed never goes into idle, it always runs at 5k MHz, even if I'm just on the desktop.

I haven't had this problem with my HD 7870 and an older CCC driver + patcher and I don't have it if I let the patcher backup the files again.

Can't use it like this 'cause my GPU runs at least 10° C hotter if I do. Any ideas how to fix?

Damn, I only looked at the last few Pages. Seems to work though, it now goes down to 600 again.

Thanks for your help.

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
I just manually unlock both core and memory when not gaming. Works fine. Not sure if that's so practical on the 290/290x though

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Hi,

i have a problem , hope you guys can help me out.

I have a AMD 7970 with a DVI-D - HDMI cable to my monitor. (Monitor only has HDMI and VGA input)

I patched the pixel clocks with the programm and it said it was successfully.

But i still can´t run refreshrates with a pixelclock higher than 165 MHz.

So it seems to be, that the patch didn´t work. Any idea ?

You might have to do this part with CRU:

  • Some monitor/GPU combinations can bypass the 165 MHz HDMI limit without patching the driver by enabling the extension block and importing one of these files:

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Is there anything else to do, than click on import and choose this file ? Then this doesn´t work
