There could also be some issue or limitation with the B580's firmware that's causing it to fallback to 640x480. Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions, ToastyX. Here, in my country, the EDID emulators are a good portion of the cost of a new monitor, so it may be better to invest in a new screen. I plan to do that eventually. The motherboard's BIOS is definitely a culprit, and I have noticed that others having similar problems tend to be using MSI. I will submit the issue to Intel (and perhaps MSI), and hopefully, they can further polish their firmware, helping others down the line. When I'm ready, I'll buy a new monitor. Many thanks for your time and assistance. Have a pleasant day! |

RE: EDID/DisplayID Writer
Thank you so much for releasing this!
One of the DVI ports on my FIMI E240HM monitor stopped working properly a few weeks back, suddenly getting picked up by Windows as a non-PNP monitor, which doesn't have the correct resolution (1920x1200) in its list. Non-PNP driver hates getting tweaked by CRU and stops it getting detected, so next step was to try and clone the EDID from DVI1 to DVI2, if possible. Searched for EDID writing tools, found yours, loaded it, when I went to save the existing EDID for DVI2 it grumbled about the checksum. Saved a copy without fixing the checksum, then read it, autocorrected it, wrote it, unplugged, replugged... fixed! |

RE: EDID/DisplayID Writer
Would love some advice.
i've recently been trying to write my EDID but had seen that my monitor was write protected when doing so. Checked further and found out that I can go into my monitors factory mode settings and turn EDID WP off which I did however upon trying to write my EDID after, I get a message saying the write failed. Would I be forced to go down the soldering route? |

What monitor and GPU are you using? Aorus AQ27QD, nvidia rtx 2080. Ive got a 670 sitting around somewhere or will it need to be older? I've written the edid on my second monitor, one of those HP E27 monitors and it worked fine so im assuming its to do with the monitor itself? |
