How is the monitor connected? DisplayPort? HDMI? If HDMI, did you try the pixel clock patch?

If you can't get 144 Hz to be available at all, then the driver is not allowing it for some reason. Try higher horizontal blanking/total values by raising the front porch/sync width/back porch 8 at a time like this: 16/24/24, 24/24/24, 24/24/32

No, what's weird is you were getting that message at all. If the resolution is not available, how can it be out of range? You should not be getting that message unless you deleted all the other resolutions and removed the extension block. Then the driver might be setting some lower resolution that your monitor doesn't support.

I tried what you told me, and even though i could not get it to work, i have some additional information now which might help you in future versions.
I found a site with someone who was trying to fix the flickering problem some experience, which had the default values for the monitor listed, plus the values he used to fix it using your tool.

So i thought i might as well try the default first, being 4/16/2 1/1/7.
After entering the values and restart64.exe i went to list all resolutions in windows. No 144hz resolutions available.
So i tried the other 8/16/16 1/1/7 not working either. Same as above.
Then i tried what you suggested, 16/24/24... 24/24/24 ... 24/24/32 and they all DID work, as in giving me 144hz resolutions to choose from.
However, when clicking any of those 144hz resolutions (tried 1600x1200, 1920x1080 and of course 2560x1440) i was always getting "out of range" from my monitor.
(Just for the record. I tried 4/16/2 and 8/16/16 afterwards again, just to make sure. It removed all the 144hz resolutions which appeared again when going 16/24/24)
I am pretty much clueless as to what causes this. Especially why it would give me 144hz resolutions at values way beyond the standard values and when entering the default 4/16/2 it wouldn't give me any 144hz resolutions at all.

Like I mentioned, maybe AMD started limiting low horizontal blanking/totals because it was causing problems with some video cards. The "standard" values are not standard at all and are unusually low. I think NVIDIA made G-SYNC monitors work that way to keep the pixel clock under 540 MHz for SLI, but apparently AMD cards can't handle values that low.

I have used CRU before and it has worked brilliantly. I tried to overclock my 4k monitor which I got about an hour ago, had no success with any overclocks, and stupidly deleted the 60hz profile!
I am now stuck at 30hz, and can't seem to get back to 60hz. I have the Acer K242HQ, and I am using displayport.
I have tried doing LCD reduced, standard and native all at 60hz refresh rate, restarted every time to no avail.
Is there an option to reset everything completely?

That makes sense, even though it seems that it does not apply to all AMD cards as my two 7970 in CF cards have no flickering issues at 144hz with the old beta driver 14.11.2 i use in win10. It was a bit difficult to install as it required me, both to install it regularly, but also use the device manager to change the driver afterwards, for it to be accepted, for those who want to try.
Surprisingly it is also 100% stable when playing BF4 unlike the newer drivers.
You were also correct concerning the driver requiring a higher total for the AMD driver to accept the new resolution.
The total that is acceptable seems to be 56 and above. Anything below it just won't add the 144hz resolution.
Unfortunately, the monitor seems to require a lower total. I tried 8/16/32, 8/32/16, 24/16/16 with no success.
Is there any way to lower this by editing some file of the driver or copying a file from the 14.11.2 driver which works over?
edit: I went on to install the old driver and decided to do some additional experimenting with your utility.
With the old driver i tried 8/16/16 just to make sure, and it worked as expected. Then i tried to raise each of those values by 8 one by one and test, raising the total to 48 vs 40. None of which worked, giving me an "out of range".
Then i went on to test 24/8/8 8/24/8 and 8/8/24 all of which worked. So it's the total of 40 which this monitor accepts which makes it impossible to get it to work with newer AMD drivers which require a total of 56 to allow for a 144hz resolution.
Hope this helps someone facing the same issues.

I downloaded CRU and I changed some settings, and now it's fked up my whole computer's res and I can't change it back. It's now on a permanent 1366 x 960.
I used to have 1920 x 1080. Now I can't do anything to change that back. Please tell me that there is a way to get rid of this? I don't want to uninstall CRU because then I am afraid my res won't reset. Everything with CRU was working perfectly until I hit the reset-all button. That's when my res was changed from 1920x1080 to 1366x960. I've tried almost everything in CRU to change it back. Do I uninstall CRU to change it back or is there something in CRU to change it back that I missed? Please tell me. Going on my pc now is unbearable.
It would be greatly appreciated if you responded.
EDIT: Also when I play games the res is also fked up, and it doesn't show res options that I used to have. Now when I play games my highest res option is 1366x960, when I used to get 1920x1080.

What did you change? 1366x960 is a strange resolution. What monitor and video card are you using and how is the monitor connected to the video card? Can you show me what CRU shows?

I don't know what you mean by uninstall CRU. CRU isn't something that's installed. CRU only writes EDID overrides. Running reset-all.exe and rebooting should reset everything.

The limit is in the driver, so copying the old driver file would just use the old driver, which defeats the purpose of installing a newer driver. There might be a way to edit the driver to remove the limit like I did with the pixel clock limits, but that involves searching and editing binary code. I will take a look, but the limit might be difficult to find.
