Just a little correction. I have an S90C without the bandwidth constraints on the S95C. Full HDMI 2.1 48Gbps bandwidth here. I just need CRU to mod the EDID so I can to force a fixed tone mapping curve from my GPU.

And a little update

I figured something out if you turn Game mode off on your S95c TV you can now read the extension block info in CRU on an Nvidia card. I’m not sure what game mode is doing and I am going to later check my bandwidth since I have no issues at 144hz on my S95c. Turning off game mode brings up being able to click on custom resolution in the Nvidia control panel again so game mode is doing something weird but turning off game mode is not ideal because you lose VRR support. It’s a completely different monitor profile.

I think I see what's happening. The display is reporting one extension block in the base block and three extension blocks in the HDMI extension override data block, but NVIDIA is changing the extension block count in the base block to three when reporting it to Windows, so CRU can't match the EDID in the registry correctly. I will need some time to think of a solution for this because CRU is not designed to deal with this sort of conflict.

I don't have a display affected by this problem, so I need more data from anyone with this problem. Run reset-all.exe and reboot first. Then run EDID-test.exe and post the test.txt file here. You can then copy and paste the part after the "NVIDIA Display #" line to a text file and import it using CRU to get the first extension block.

Does it matter which TV mode I am in when I run the test? Default is PC Mode, Game Mode is the primary mode I am looking to make changes to, and video modes (sub 30Hz) is another set I need access to for testing/calibration.

All them seem to be having issues but the PC Mode extension block came up once. I haven't been able to repeat it. This is the report from Game Mode, the one I primarily am concerned with.

NVIDIA's driver is doing some weird stuff. The EDID it reports to Windows is different from the EDID reported by the display, which is why CRU can't match the full EDID with the one in the registry. It's not just the extension block count that changes. It's also changing the EDID version to 1.4, removing established resolutions greater than 60 Hz, and incorrectly changing the detailed resolutions to digital composite sync. I don't know why they're doing this. It seems like broken behavior, so I'm not sure the best way to work around this. I might have to implement a less specific fallback match to work around this if the other methods fail.

Hi there! I'm extremely new to this kind of stuff and don't quite understand all of the tech jargon. But I have 3 - 32" curved monitors, all Dell:

S3220DGF 2560 x 1440 164 Hz
S3220DGF 2560 x 1440 164 Hz
S3222DGM 2560 x 1440 165 Hz (primary)

I can run all three monitors at max refresh rate when they are set as multiple displays. When I try to use Nvidia Surround, I'm capped at 60 Hz.
I have tried to use Nvidia control to customize the resolution of each monitor to be exactly 164 Hz with no decibels, and it reflects that in windows display settings and Nvidia. However, it still is capping me at 60 Hz in surround mode.

I downloaded CRU and tried to "copy" the profile for the S3220DGF to the S3222DGM and also tried to manually adjust the extension block to be the same exact refresh rate. However, when I tell it to restart, the main monitor that I'm adjusting does not come back after a few seconds and my computer freezes. I have to turn off the PC, turn off the monitor, reboot, reset all the changes in CRU, restart again, then I can turn the main monitor back on and have to reset windows display settings all over again.

I've tried a few different ways to get the numbers exactly the same and restart the graphics driver, but it crashes every time. Any suggestions on how I can get the refresh rate the same and higher than 60 Hz in surround?

EDIT: I think I've sorted it out. When I made the custom resolutions in Nvidia to make all 3 monitors 164 Hz, I didn't adjust the timing manually and make sure all fields matched. I copied the DGF settings to the DGM, but then the monitor flickered. So I copied the DGM timing settings to the DGF monitors and they both seem to be doing fine. I was then able to go into Nvidia Surround and configure the 3 monitors to 164 Hz.

It appears to be a real mess as you describe. It transcends CRU, as one would expect, as I am not seeing all the resolution options that would normally be offered in NVCP. I do have a laptop here with Quadro drivers so I will see how that responds to the set (S90C 77") later and report back if the situation improves there. I don't think Samsung's TV division and Nvidia have established compatibility certification so it might be difficult to get either side to look into the matter.

I seem to be having the idle power draw issue on my GPU. I tried using this tool to increase blanking for all my monitors but without success. I also tried lower resolutions but even using 60Hz with high blanking number doesn't help.
Is there something I can do?
